Tiago Cabaço Licoroso

This Alicante Bouschet fortified ree wine 2019 is Tiago Cabaço's second signature vintage.

For us the choice of Alicante Bouschet was natural and immediate, by the wide recognition

and performance that it has had in Alentejo and for the excellent results that we have had

in the vinification of some selected parcels, where the variety expresses all of its potential

and the richness of our terroir.

Tasting Notes

Compact ruby color and fine but powerful tannins. Complex aroma with a mix of black

gooseberry notes, tomato jam, blueberries and light spices.

Vinification

The harvest was carried out manually for small capacity boxes. The grapes, after a partial

destemming, were trodden on foot in modern stainless steel open sky taks with control of

temperature. Halfway through the fermentation a pure, young and first quality wine spirit

is added, interrupting it and allowing part of the sugar from the grapes to stay present in

a natural way. We did a small stainless steel stage followed by an extended stage in bottle.
