Ravasqueira Syrah Viognier

Syrah and Viognier form, in particular conditions, a unique and unusual blend. This blend, originating in the north of the Rhone Valley, has spread throughout the world, emphasizing its importance in Australia. The 2012 harvest gave rise to the first wine of these two grape varieties produced at Monte da Ravasqueira.

97% Syrah, 3% Viognier. The Viognier grapes were harvested late and frozen, awaiting the Syrah harvest. Only two bunches per vine were left so that the Viognier grapes acquired an aromatic concentration. The Syrah is sourced from the Vinha das Romãs plot, but from different areas and selected according to this wine’s profile.

Dense, black colour. Nose with a mixture of peppers, ripe red fruits, tar, and a hint of light peach and apricot. Mineral, full of volume, tannins in constant balance with the vivid and vibrant acidity. Complex, with notes of mocha, coffee, and biscuit. Fine, constant tannins, with a mineral and minty prolongation.
