Type of wine

Wine made from grapes of Loureiro variety,

from a single vineyard located on

the left bank of the Lima river – Encosta

do Pombal, Quinta da Ferreira. This wine

is the result of our investigation with the

Loureiro variety on the several estates

that we work along the Lima valley, on

both banks of Lima river. This vineyard

has an altitude of 35 meters high, with a

soil of granitic origin but also with some

schist. With this vineyard we are able to

obtain a quite unusual concentration and

expression of the variety, but still keeping

the freshness and pure nose of the variety.

Key points

Handpicked grapes, with a great selection

at the vineyard, into small boxes and

carried to the winery in a short period of

time. Very soft pressing of the whole destemmed

grapes. Long cold clarification.

Fermentation in stainless steel. Ageing on

stainless steel for 9 months with regular

bâtonnage. Ageing on bottle.

Tasting notes

Very delicate floral aroma also showing

fresh hints of herbs (peppermint, sage)

and some soft notes of kerosene/petrol.

On the palate along with untuosity with

some floral notes it also shows a very

stressed and direct/refreshing acidity.
