Type of wine

From grapes of the noble Alvarinho variety,

exclusively from Quinta da Torre.

Located in Monção, Quinta da Torre

presents a diversity of soils in the various

plots, allowing the elaboration of a rich

and complex wine. The intensive study

over the years, by Anselmo Mendes, of

the Alvarinho variety in the process of

fermentation and barrel aging is present

in this wine.

Vinification

Handpicked grapes into small boxes and

carried to the winery in a short period of

time. Very soft pressing of the whole destemmed

grapes. Long cold clarification.

Fermentation in new 400-litre French

oak barrels. Ageing in these barrels for

9 months with bâtonnage on the whole

lees. 9 months of ageing in bottle.

Tasting notes

Floral aroma that reminds of jasmine and

nuances of light vanilla. Notes of toast and

caramel. In the mouth the well marked

acidity and evident citric freshness mark

this wine. Persistent, elegant and delicate

finish.

Pairing Suggestion

Expressions, a very gastronomic wine,

perfectly accompanies several cod and

crustacean dishes. Codfish fillet with

creamy sauce of shrimp and asparagus or

codfish “à Brás” are great strong dishes

that perfectly accompany this wine. Several

cheeses also make Expressions an

enriching wine on the palate. Camembert

cheese puff pastry drizzled with honey,

walnuts and rosemary, a worthy starter

for a powerful wine. Should be served

at 11-13°C.
